YOKUBO Kombucha
A premium kombucha can design created for Asahi Group Europe & International, developed as part of the company’s entry into a new beverage category for the UK market.
YOKUBO was created as a product outside of Asahi’s standard beverage portfolio, with the ambition to enter the kombucha category in a more premium and visually distinctive way. Instead of following the typical “healthy drink” design route often seen in kombucha, the goal was to create a product that felt more refined, sophisticated and desirable.
I designed the can artwork, including a custom YOKUBO logo created to work directly with the main illustration on the pack. The visual identity was built around a detailed architectural illustration, giving the can a strong focal point and a more crafted, elevated appearance.
The packaging direction combined a matte finish with textured golden embossing, creating a tactile and premium feel while helping the product stand apart from more conventional kombucha brands. The result was a distinctive can design that brought together craft, elegance and category disruption in one compact format.
