KŌAN Matcha Beer Concept
A premium brand concept for a matcha-infused beer, created during an internal in-house agency creative session with a 6 hour time limit to develop the full design system, website concepts, social media assets and presentation deck.
KŌAN was designed for urban, design-conscious drinkers looking for new flavour experiences. The concept blends the elegance of Japanese tea culture with the boldness of modern craft brewing, creating a brand world that feels calm, natural and culturally inspired.
The idea was built around “The Impossible Harmony” as the meeting point between the crispness of Czech beer and the depth of ceremonial Japanese matcha. This contrast shaped the full visual direction: minimal, refined and balanced, with expressive brush details inspired by matcha preparation.
The Ō in logo uses a custom brush-style inspired by matcha preparation as the main brand symbol. This circular gesture became a flexible graphic device used across the identity, packaging, website elements, icons and social media assets, helping create a distinctive and cohesive visual system.
I designed two clean can variants – Matcha Infused Craft Ale and Matcha Infused Lager. Using a minimal layout, restrained typography and soft gold accents to give the product a premium and modern feel.
The homepage was designed in both desktop and mobile formats. It introduces the brand story, product variants, serving ritual, pairing suggestions and a store locator section, creating an immersive but elegant digital experience. The system was also extended into social media through Instagram feed and story concepts, showing how the brand could launch consistently across channels.
Despite the short timeframe, the project was developed as a complete launch-ready concept, combining strategy, branding, packaging, digital design and presentation into one cohesive output.
